I’ve just about decided to not do anymore reuploads. My dream of having all the shows of a band/year/whatever up in a constant availability has died. I’ve got a bunch of reups that I already promised to do that I’ll finish up over the next few weeks, but after that I think it will just be new stuff. I’ll likely post an official announcement of that soon.

  1. Would love to have this but all download links are to .zip.exe files, not to just .zip files. Even if you de-select “Download with FileFactory’s download manager.”

  2. Anyone else have this problem? I just tried and it worked fine, just gave me a .zip file.

Polypheme, whhich file were you trying? What browser are you using? Try it again tomorrow and let me know if it works or not.

  3. No problem with the MP3 DL for me, thnx for the upgrade, i can hear a little more Jer than previous sources, the vocals are sweet! Brent shines on this one! Phil is always a monster!

  4. Haven’t been able to visit for a few days. Opera browser doesn’t seem to play well with FileF. Worked with IE. Many thanks.

  5. Hey Mat, I know you said you weren/t gonna do any more reuploads but I am hoping that maybe you’d re-up that Traveling Wilbury’s Comp. This sight is fantastic Thanks, Tom

  6. Thanks Tony, I just saw that. I have mixed feelings about these things. On one hand it is great that they are now releasing so many great runs and I have no doubt they’ve never sounded better and come with cool packaging. On the other hand I can’t afford such things. There is no way I’m gonna spend $140 on this run since I’ve already got them in boot form. Not to mention many of them (including the May 77 collection) are limited editions which means not all who are willing to spend the cash are gonna get them. But then guys like me who are sharing the shows have to put them out of commission for fear of copyright violations.

I don’t know if that makes any sense and I suppose it doesn’t really matter as those who don’t want to buy but do want to listen can find ways to grab them without throwing down big bucks.

  7. Same here, more or less – I would love the set but I can’t afford it… and it should be said I have always bought the official releases until recently… but here in the UK importing from US is a very expensive lottery.
And now they’re always LTD edition, the price from a UK seller on for instance Ebay or similar is always at “rarities”
    collectors only prices….
I would have loved some of Dave’s Picks, but who was to have guessed in advance he would focus on the 70’s ???
I never subscribed originally because I thought I might end up
with something from the 90s !! (not my cup of tea).

Still – these are going to be official downloads as well so that’s a step in the right direction all round. And at least they do keep making quality releases (and i suppose they have to find ways
of making them viable) – look for instance at what Sony dish out
to Dylan fans – or rather don’t.
    Whitmark Demos?? – eff off!

That’s a bit like: well we got all these tapes of Shakespeare at the Globe
circa 1600 but only people a thousand years hence will be
    allowed to see them.

    All of that said —
May 77 ?? -is that the best they can come up with? It’s a pretty
average package if you ask me. And surely the business end
of one of the Chicago shows was only just released as the
    Winterland 77 bonus.

    But I don’t care – got ’em all ;)

  8. I’ve bought many a disk from the Grateful Dead plus t-shirts, tickets etc so I have no problem collecting all the boots too. I do dig that they are releasing so much stuff now and I guess I get the way they are doing it with limited releases, etc. I’m glad they aren’t trying to stop the trading scene too, but at the same time it does make it difficult for folks like me to know what to post and what is verboten.

Thanks for the link, that is very interesting. I wonder if the reasoning behind not releasing things they don’t hold the masters to is about sound quality or the fear of getting sued.
