Liner Notes:
The Great American Music Hall is San Francisco’s oldest and grandest night club. The club first opened in 1907, a year after the devastating earthquake of 1906, and symbolized for many a newly revitalized city. Originally part bordello, the night club would go through several owners, names (Blanco’s, The Music Box), and musical offerings before it would reopen in 1972 as The Great American Music Hall.

For the next three decades, the stage was used by the likes of Sarah Vaughn, B B King, Duke Ellington, Etta James, Johnny Cash, The Grateful Dead, and Van Morrison – who said it was his favorite hall. Van, living in Marin County at the time, played at The Great American Music Hall several times a year throughout 1980-1985, before moving mack to Ireland in the mid-Eighties. He returned to play a three-night run in April of 1992. During his shows in the Eighties, Van would often try out new material from his albums and play a few old chestnuts – aloong with some material that would never be released. This tape is a humble compilation of the vibrant music that resonated in that hall.

Comment – This is not a high-fidelity recording due especially to cheap mics.
In spite of poor quality, it’s offered for trade for its historical value (with my apologies), since no other source currently circulates per db.etree.

NOTE from original uploader: from Seeing The Real You At Last it seems the taper have shifted position/most likely hidden the mics a little too well. From here on in the last four tracks suffer. All previous tracks are very good/excellent; through and through tape hissy though.

No LB-number;
although there’s one at http://jokerman.org.uk/lb/detail/LB-00769.html
The little background talking is there and truly gets to the foreground on d1t7, d1t9, d2ts, d2t4, but after being encoded to SHNs and compared against LB-0769 fingerprints, to the best of my ability I couldnít find that the tracks matched its wantonly list.
