18 Encore Break [1:35]
19 Blowin’ In The Wind [5:38]

Recorded by Hurricane62 from approximately 1/3 of the way between the stage and the soundboard (75-feet from the stage?) almost directly in line with Bob’s keyboards (stage-left). This is an excellent recording with great clarity and minimal crowd chatter.

Audio Technica SP-CMC-2 Cardioid Mics -> SP-SPSB-11 Battery Box with Bass Rolloff set at 69 hZ -> Sony PCM-M10 (44.1 MHz/16 bit) with Limiter ON and Low Pass Filter OFF -> WavePad (amp & track splitting) -> converted to .flac using Traders Little Helper (SBE’s fixed, flac level 8)

Typical Dylan show, maybe lacking slightly in energy from the November 2012 performance in the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul (also in circulation an excellent Hurricane62 audience recording). Highlights include Bob’s dedication of “Suzie Baby” to Bobby Vee and a great performance of “Simple Twist Of Fate”.

LosslessBob entry: LB-2653. some occasional brief background talking; very good to excellent sound [B+]; not much above 10k except what looks like noise

Fix of LB-2653: Wave Repair 4.9.3. to fix micro gaps at indexes between all tracks and leading/trailing digital silences > FLAC, sector align

Note: First performance of Blowin’ In The Wind during the 1974 tour.

looks as if everything around 16k hiss band was removed similar to remastered version; this version is an improvement on both previous versions as unprocessed version has the hiss and the previous remastered version sounds unaturally sound processed in comparison; very good sound [B]

Notes from the taper:

1)Quality IS About A For The Most Part.We Set Up On The Lawn And Then Were Told To Go Back Farther On The Lawn,But The Recording Still Came Out Really Good.

2)A Far As I can Tell,I Was The Only Taper There That Night,Or at Least I didn’t See Anyone Else With A Mic Stand,So This Could Very Well Be the Only Audience Source In Circulation. This Was The Same As Last Time I taped Him In The Same Venue 8/28/07.I Believe I Was The only Taper That Night Also.If Anyone Wants Me To Upload The Dat Master Of That Show,Leave A Note In The Comments Section.

3)My Friend Grabbed The Printed Setlist From The Stage At The End Of The Show,So Hopefully This Setlist Is Correct.

Encore Break:

* – The noise that begins here is due to the singing of the cicada bugs in the trees nearby. The cicadas began to sing roughly 45 minutes before the torrential downpour started (see below), approximately also 45 minutes after the start of the show.

** – When the rain began in earnest, I slid a yard-trash bag over the mics. Once the tapers in front of me offered me an umbrella (thanks Frank & Charles), I removed the bags. This lasted roughly 90 seconds of Bela’s banjo solo. The plastic killed the sound quality, although the sound of plastic bags dragging across windscreens and mics is truely unique. During this time, the PA was also draped with tarps by the stage crew. I removed the unusable audio section, and crossfaded back over the solo itself, once the bags had been removed, leaving a relatively seamless transition.

*** – The noise around 24:31 of track 18 (right track only) is the sound of the FOH tent getting
setup to combat the rain, and hitting my mic stand in the process.
