102-d1t02 – China Cat Sunflower ->
103-d1t03 – I Know You Rider
104-d1t04 – Black Peter
105-d1t05 – Cumberland Blues
106-d1t06 – Good Lovin -> Drums -> Good Lovin\
107-d1t07 – Me & My Uncle
108-d1t08 – Cold Rain & Snow
109-d1t09 – High Time

112-d2t02 – Drums ->
113-d2t03 – The Other One% ->
114-d2t04 – Turn on Your Lovelight

Known flaws:
-BIODTL through I Know you Rider: right channel mix is all Bobby
with Jerry and the vocals on the left channel. Mix balances out
in Black Peter.
-Good Lovin cuts just before the end.
-Splice in the Other One @ 03:39 prior to the end. Doesn’t sound
like much is missing here.
-Brief subsecond static towards the last few minutes of Lovelight.

Bust fund benefit with Peter Green and Fleetwood Mac.
Peter Green plays on Lovelight.

Many thanks to the taper

Completely reworked from a master generation source
Normalized-deglitched and retracked

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent taping job, sound and audience
The thing holding this one back-is the setlist
and shortness of the show IMO.
Good versions of Foreign Window and Someone Like You.

notes:
Phil’s amp fails, forcing an unscheduled acoustic set to close the
show with. Jerry plays electric guitar for some of the acoustic
set. This is also the day that the Dead were busted by the
New Orleans police before the show, prompting some appropriate
stage banter. The recording was normalized with Sound Forge,
which was also used to remove a few small pops.

NOTES

: High end boost to help somewhat muddy sound
: D/O’s & glitches removed from the middle of Mystery Train and Long Way From Home; resulting splices aren’t ideal, but are a good deal less shocking than the
crack of the original glitches
: I’ll Be With Thee cut by a few seconds at the beginning
: Between-track audience chatter cut down between songs in an earlier generation (master?)
: All digital audio editing done with Cool Edit 2000

MAC > R > CDx2 > EAC > SHN (I & IIp) +
MSC > 2C > CD > EAC > SHN (end of set II).

The aud tape, recorded by Mike Riley with unknown gear, supplies set I and the first two songs of set II. The taper was busted after Gomorrah. For that material, Michael Parrish’s first gen reels were transferred directly to CD, w/ no DAT stage. A nice soundboard, apparently (per Kevin Tobin) from a cassette master and
with two subsquent cassette gens, supplies the end ofset II. Shntool confirms proper sector boundaries for all tracks.
