  1. Wonderful! Many thanks – I was missing this. In fact, many people may be missing it, as the soundboard of the 2nd and 3rd sets did not circulate at all until after 2000. “Ripple” is the version from Reckoning, with the Weir “that’s Otis” quip as Otis (his dog) walked on-stage during the acoustic set!

    1. For the longest time I couldn’t figure out who Otis was. I was afraid to ask because on some old Deadhead message board somebody joked about how tired they were of hearing newbies ask who Otis was so I always kept quiet. Somewhere along the way I read about Weir having a dog named Otis and it suddenly clicked.
