Lossless Bootleg Bonanza: The Police – Minneapolis, MN (05/24/79)

FM broadcast recorded to Maxell UDXLII cassette>Yamaha-KX330 tape deck>Terratec-EWX soundcard>EAC-WAV>Audacity-FLAC

This is straight from the mastertape. The only editing I did was that in the first 21 seconds of the Track 1 the right channel had static, so I pasted in a bit from the left channel. I have not done any other editing, EQing, filtering, or any kind of tampering with the sound.

I don’t put sound ratings on these uploads — I’d prefer to have somebody independent (such as yourself) judge that. So, after you’ve downloaded and listened, post a comment on the sound quality.

Every year I tell myself I’m gonna make it to Bonnaroo and every year I never make it. Blame the cost, blame the lack of proper available vacation time, blame my laziness, but whatever you do don’t blame the music. This is consistently one of the best music festivals in the country, year after year.

I’m not particularly a huge Police fan. I dig a good chunk of their tunes, but none of them are enough to make me a fanatic. This is a really good show though, with a revitalized Police jamming in front of thousands of zonked out hippies. The sound quality is good, with a bit of loud audience noise during the quieter moments. The setlists is particularly nice as well, knocking of most of their hit songs plus a bunch of my non-hit favorites.
