Jackson Browne – Syracuse, NY (03/27/71)

Jackson Browne

The Jabberwocky

Bonnie Raitt played a show at the same place on the same date. Presumably, it was the same gig and one opened for the other, but I can’t find confirmation of that. You can grab a recording of her performance here.

  1. yes Bonnie Raitt played the same show with Jackson. From what I gather they rotated sets. One played one set then the other went on stage and then the other one came on stage etc. at one point during one of Jackson’s sets there is an audience member that asks him “when is that pretty lady coming back?“ 😂 to which Jackson replies “ who Bonnie? She’ll be back on soon“ or something like that. This leads me to believe that JB and BR were rotating sets.

Both Bonnie and Jackson’s sets from this performance are awesome and very unique, especially Jackson’s as I don’t have any other recording where he does this exact Setlist. He plays songs from his early demos that he doesn’t play again as far as I can tell from my fairly large live Jackson collection.

    1. I should have known you would know :). The Bonnie performances I’ve heard from this period are excellent. I’ll have to check out this Browne performance. I haven’t had time to give it a listen yet.

  2. This is one of my favorite Jackson Browne shows, mostly because I love the first album so much and he does a lot of songs off of that LP ‘Saturate before Using’.

I didn’t do the artwork displayed here. It’s different than mine.
