Hi to all

Welcome to my series of mostly uncirculated masters & very low generation shows that i recorded or received in trades in my younger days most of my masters have not been circulated or only traded once or twice i used to trade a lot in the 70s – 80s & i have many many shows well in excess of 7,500 tapes Of these shows about 120 – 150 are my masters they where always on my trading list but not many got traded so i boxed them all up in the late 80s now i have decided to go through them & upload some of them.

I recorded many bands from Genesis ñ Bowie ñ Springsteen – Hawkwind – Hackett ñ Gabriel ñ Marillion plus many many others i will try & upload a least one show a week if not two. To record theses shows i used a Sony portable hand held tape recorder with built in stereo mics. I always used good quality tapes to record on mainly T.D.K.
I used to insert the tape deck in a empty coffee flask with the inside taken out of the flask to get past the security ah those where the days.

The only thing i ask is please donít sell these recording & donít convert to mp3 etc & if you do ( only for your own use ). Please donít change any of the files or info files etc this is so that people can tell the difference between this source & other sources as many people like to compare different versions of shows. Also please do not remaster these shows the reason for this is these days there are far to many remasters of shns. Its ok have one remaster etc, but some are remastered that many times by different people there can be at least 10 different remasters of a show from the same source & it can get a bit tedious.

On to the show for your enjoyment Davros archives presents :-

The quality of this recording is good to very good at times, Bigtime for some reason is only fair and sounds muffled at times. Many many thanks to the trader for sending me a copy & for the taper taping the show.

I hope you enjoy this show please if you want to upload it to other sites please wait a week or so as i will be uploading these shows to a couple of other torrent sites. after it has run its course on here

As Usual Please dont convert to mp3 ( only for your own use if you do ) Please Keep all the info files md5 etc in the folder so that other collectors know which version this is etc and most of all DO NOT SELL.

PLEASE NOTE.

This series is from my own personal collection they are NOT SOURCED FROM ANY CDRs / OTHER TORRENT SITES ETC.They are from recordings that i traded for between 20 – 35 years ago on audio tape as stated above they have all been boxed up for the past 20 or so years.

This is the first time any of them have been Digitally transfered and torrented. All i am doing to the recordings in nero wave editor is inproving the volume ( if low), also equallizing the left and right channel where needed. Removing hiss etc ( If i can ). Recordings in this series that have a generation linage are the correct linage as to what i was told when i was sent the recordings. Most of the traders i tradedwith where well known traders so i have no reason to believe they are not the true Linage if i had any doubt to the linage at the time i did not write it
down on the tape so all the low generation recordings in this series have a well known and correct linage.

Please do not remaster any of theses If you wish to do remastering of this source find yourself a better quality version and remaster that. This version is how i remembered hearing it all them years ago and how it sounded when it was recorded the way it should be heard.

Please also buy the bands offical stuff and support them etc. Thanks to all the Artists for there great music and to all the traders for keeping live music alive.

LDB Special Series #472

Out of my 17,000+ shows and radio broadcasts, I have many concerts that were special for some reasons: the setlist, the musicians, the venue or unexpected events. These are the ones I’d like to propose you. Most of these come from my cassettes collection, so they will be released at a slower pace than my Master Series! But you won’t be disappointed!

I will try to gather the most unusual things I have in my collection and, as always, your feedback and comments will be my reward for all the work involved in this project.

DO NOT share this music on mp3, just convert it for your own use. Sharing mp3’s is the right way to make me stop sharing music here.

Here is something quite special: towards the end of the tour PG played five straight shows at the Olympia, making possibly the longest stand in a single venue ever. I do not recall Gabriel having played the same venue for five nights in a row!

These were exceptionally dense performances by a band that by then had reached a perfect synch and interaction, even if the bass player was not the same that had started the tour some six months earlier as Tony Levin was not available.

I was able to get almost all dates from french traders which probably shows that these are extremely low generation copies, even if I do not have the exact lineage. The setlist did change but not that much, except that here we have the very last performances of White Shadow which was never recorded in any other 1980 tour.

These dates circulate with some confusion in the dates, but I could reconstruct which date is which through the recollection of a couple of friends who did attend these shows. One of them even got Pete¥s tambourine which he used to throw to the audience at the and of Solsbury Hill! Hopefully I can shed some light on the exact dates.

To define each date, I have called them with the intro words to Solsbury Hill. Every night Peter would start his speech in a different way, so it is clear that all 5 dates are different. Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to “Five Nights In Paris”!

The Lostbrook Tape Series – Volume 98

Some concert venues evoke memories of an entire era. When I think of summertime concerts in the 1970’s, Wollman Rink is such a place for me. I have vivid memories of waiting all day in the hot sun on lines that snaked their way along the walking paths of Central Park. Meeting like-minded people who wanted to sit close to the stage was part of the experience. I have no idea why I sat in the cheap seats this day since all the tickets were inexpensive to begin with. The orchestra must have been sold out, but it worked out for the best. The sound
was crisp and clear where I sat, Gabriel was magnificent, and the tape is one of my best. I’ll never forget the blood red sunset reflecting off the boulders outside the rink as the crowd chanted along with “Biko.” This was my last concert at Wollman Rink, and, sadly, the only one I ever recorded there. When the festival moved to Pier 84 the next year, I didn’t follow. For me, it was one more sign that an era had ended.

LDB Special Series #363 (RLR collection)

I had this one from RLR collection in a low generation copy. Infact, this one was recorded by a bunch of brave italian fans who travelled to London to see the show. You can clearly hear their comments during the show, in particular mentioning Andy MacKay joining the band after Jumping Jack Flash. possibly this one is the version that commonly circulates but at least now we have a known generation.

The tape was in bad shape when I first listened to it. In particular it was suffering from some speed changes during some songs (Winter of ¥79 for example) and overall it was running slightly fast. This was adjusted to my best knowledge. Also, existing setlists are fairly incomplete and incorrect so I took some time (and my TRB old albums!) to fill the gaps and come to a complete setlist. Still, some doubts about the band where I am not sure there was a guitar player although at the beginning of DIY there is some guitar tuning.

This is the last show of the 1978 tour, I had quite some fun to listen to it!

i added a short interview from French radio “FrÈquence Nord” broadcast in 1977 in track 9 on CD 2.
I try to translate (be cool with my poor English!!) the Gabriel’s speech coz it’s in French ( i love the sound of his voice when he speaks in French!!!)

SPEAKER /
Peter Gabriel with Genesis was the first one to give a theatrical dimension at so-called “the rock music” with costume – masks… all these kind of thing, same for the character Rael
with many accessoiries on stage, many stage game. Now are you carry-on like that or simply like a singer who came on stage to do a set?
PG /
Now it’s very important for me to begin for the second time very simply, very directly to the public, because i think that the relation is better if the basis is music…
(…some confusing words, i don’t understand..) but i like visual ideas and maybe in some years i’ll try to make a show with visual aspect one more time and i want to extend the visual
ideas of Genesis because i think that is the beginning of this progression.
