This is the entire Hundred Year Hall show.
I suspect this is the original FM broadcast
Matt Vernon note:
I do not think this is an FM source. I compared the Bertha from this shn set
with an EAC rip of my copy of “100 Year Hall” and to my ears they are indistinguisable.
I also compared the Bertha from the 100YH release and this shn set with cool edit.
The 100 Year Hall release is normalized to a larger amplitude (maybe 25% louder) and
is .00495% faster. So this shn set is not EXACTLY the same as the 100 YH release where
one can compare tracks but it looks to be the same source. The tracks on this shn set
NOT in the 100 YH release are the same source as the recent upgrade I seeded of the
4/26/72 outtakes.

This is an upgrade to the previous shn set

The sound quality here is on par with the commercially released tracks, while
the previous shn set I now believe to have been from an FM broadcast based on
the spectral signature and hiss level. This new shn set also includes El Paso
which was missing from the previous, “FM” shn set. Although I do not know the
exact source/lineage information, it is probably from the same 16 track tapes
used for the commercial release.

Notes:
– This recording has been provided by an anonymous source.
– Clippng has been repaired, levels adjusted and transitions smoothed out.
– This glorious show was partially released as “Hundred Year Hall,” Dick Latvala much preferred this uncompressed version.
– All files have been tagged.
– I had thought of holding this back for the 43rd Anniversary but I can’t think of anything better to let your neighbours hear on an Easter Sunday morning. Donna will ease them from their slumbers with “Playing”, she is reasonably subdued in this version as she got buried in the mix. It surprises me that no one has thought of producing a Donna Alarm Clock, a must for all non-Deadheads. Get the howl, beat your head and get out of bed 🙂
Frank Zappa asked “Does Humor Belong in Music?” I’m firmly convinced that it does.
Have fun with this one!
Happy Easter

very cool many thanks
Wow! Didn’t know what to expect when we got to 4/26, but this is a special treat. Hundred Year Hall is quite good but we’ve always been perplexed, not only at the fact that a third of the show was omitted but that the last three songs were put on disc one. To have the entire show and is this quality is quite amazing. Thanks, Mat!
You are welcome. It is a very cool show. I love Hundred Year Hall (actually I think it is the first officially released live show I ever bought from the Dead) but you are right it is very weird how they put it together.
