  1. Bernard do me a favor and try it again in several hours, if it is giving you the same problem let me know and I’ll reup. It may just be megaupload crapping out for the moment.

  2. Yep Megaupload killed a bunch of my shows. Mediafire did too. Now Rapidshare is putting a block on bandwidth. All of which is an obviously huge headache for me.

I hate to say it but at the moment I’m simply not looking back and reuploading anything. I want to concentrate on new stuff. It is likely that I’ll change my mind at some point in the nearish future as I hate to deprive anyone of this amazing show, but I cannot make any promises.

If I do reupload it I will comment here about it so you’ll get notification.

    Sorry and thanks.

  3. It is a great show but I’m sorry to say I’m not going to reupload it. Many apologies but I’ve had a ton of stuff taken down of late and I’d rather concentrate on new stuff than constantly reuploading old things.

  4. Comments from a deleted repost:

    Luvly stuff!!

Incidentally Mat, nice run of JGB posts. out of interest, are these coming from the FF lists I gave you or have you found another seam to mine?

In case you missed it this is a good FF link to grab with premium (1.8 GB!!)

Its the Greta Dane 4 CD live anthology with full book scans. A classic boot from the mid 90s and still well worth a listen.

For those like me currently running on free d/l, just get it running, go to bed and pray.

Nope those come from another source than yours. I actually went back and tried a bunch of those FF links you sent the other day and they seem to be all dead. I had grabbed a few back when you sent them, but missed a bunch due to not keeping up with the slow downloads.

Have had that Rock N Roll Cowboy comp for awhile now. Great stuff.

ps tragic to think that less than 2 years later Big Bill would be dead. Throat cancer took one of the great voices of the blues. Also difficult to imagine that almost 60 years later Mr Seeger would still be singing some of these songs.

Actually for the ‘1800s men’ (as they were often cited, and liked to wear as a badge of authenticity) such as Big Bill and Sonny Boy Williamson etc, to make it into their 60s and 70s was quite an achievement, in view of their lifestyle and the hardships they must have lived thru.

ps the original post for that Neil is on g101 – Mr Wolfsbane if memory serves. Whenever I have a subscription i head straight for the extremely large single links that you have little chance of grabbing otherwise.

Yo’ll find some similarly huge (but excellent anthologies) of The Band and Tom Petty at Bootleg Kingdom if you are of a similar mind and looking for max bang for your buck!

Pete’s a real hero of mine. We took a holiday in Japan a few years back and the little inn we stayed in Osaka (I think, could have been Hiroshima) had a little plaque noting that Pete had stayed there with his signature and his little banjo doodle. I was more excited by that than just about anything else.

Thanks for the heads up on Bootleg Kingdom. Like I needed another site full of FF links for me to fill up my hard drives with 😉
