Producer’s Note:

This historic recording was not known to collectors until March 1993. This CD contains all that exists from the marter tape. Our intrepid tapers night was not without problems. During “It’s all over night…” It is obvious he hides the microphone for 20 seconds or so. Tapers paranoia – who spotted him? Then his batteries run out during “Desolation Row”, he gets going again during “Just like a Woman”. We have edited-in “Desolation Row” from Bristol to maintain continuity. The Leicester “Desolation row is added at the end for completists. The highlight of the recording is “Tambourine man”, the harmonica is captured beautifully. Sadly out taper switched off during “Tom Thum” . if only he knew!
