Bertha Remaster of the Serafin Master Reel source.
SBD>>MR>>DAT>>SHN>>DAW(Bertha)>>CDA/SHN – Sound A+

From Serafin text file:
LINEAGE:
SBD > 2-TRACK RTR @ 7.5 i.p.s. > Marin County Source 24/96 digital multi-track > SSSB

Notes:
Digitally remastered using a custom built, Dual-DAW, nicknamed Bertha,
by jashley@deadacated.com
10/30/2002.

The Serafin source was completely reassembled prior to processing. Retracking was done
using CDWave after all processing was completed. The wavs were tested for SBEs prior
to encoding to SHN.

The fade between d3t03 and d3t04 was done by Serafin or others and was left as-is due
to no overlap being provided. This is the reason I do not use fades between discs.
All of my disc changes are at track markers to make for seamless rejoining of tracks
when transferring to larger media.

  1. Holy Moly! There have been some great GD shows posted here in the past, but this has to be about the most stunning show ever. Certainly the best ’77 show I have heard, and probably about one of the best over all from any year. Great set list, and outstanding sound quality. Thanks a million for this spectacular show.

  2. Thanks for this one.
gentle reminder – any chance you could re-up 2/22/69, Vallejo?
    Love your efforts here

    Thanks, Steve

  3. Listening right now and I concur with brian. Just getting into this and the band is tight from the get go. What a treat.
Thanks a lot Mat. This one will be in a short rotation this week. Absorbing the vibe.

    Peace,
    Ken

  4. Thanks for this and other great GD shows! Would love to see on this site hard-to-find-in-good-quality shows, such as the 1972 Texas tour (1972.11.18-26). Thanx again!

  5. My long term plan is to post everything the Grateful Dead ever played (that is available and not officially released.)

I’m working my way through 1977 right now but then plan to hit up 1972 after. It is a slow process though so be patient.

Not just a ‘Bertha’ remaster but a full on reconstruction! Thought the date was too familiar, but in fact it is of course the night after the first of Dick’s Picks. I’m sure the usual candidates around here will be pleased to see this one in the inbox. I’ll be interested to find out from them if this is as essential as it appears to be!
