  1. I missed this one, I was travelling 350 miles overnight on the bus to see the following night’s show at the same venue. Had a great time in Glasgow staying with a trader mate i regularly swapped Bob shows with, BUT this is a rough tour featuring some of the most erratic and poor Bob performances of recent times. A few points of interest here, firstly the return of Ian Wallace (from 78 tour) on drums, we all thought this would be good thing, it wasn’t! secondly this is unusual in that most of the principal tapers had switched to the new DAT recorders at the neginning of this tour, thirdly this show at least has a far more unusual and interesting setlist than the ragbag Hammersmith shows that followed. I was at all those shows as I had aleady purchased tickets on the strength of the majestic shows 12 months earlier.

    It will be interesting to revisit this as the last time i was listening to my mate’s recording whilst recovering from the mother of all hangovers. Anyway if the wise and excellent JTT considers it worth the investment of his time then it has to be worth another listen.

    I’ve just remembered, isn’t this the show where Bob screws up Pos 4th street and the band just keep looping around on the riff. There were so many mess ups on this tour (mostly from Bob) it’s hard to recall them all!

    Good points DylanDave – I can see what you mean. (It DOES sound like Bob gets a bit lost on Positively 4th) I’m such a fan of basically all Dylan eras though…. this was from the era when I first started going to Dylan concerts so I’m sentimental for it.
