    Was at a couple of these. Good moments but unfortunately this was during Bob’s ‘Jam band’ period. Some of the arrangements were interminable live. ‘Memphis Blues’ comes to mind. Remember loving Jim Jones, Tomorrow Night, I 6 I, and a few more besides. Overall however not a patch on some of the ’92 tour legs.
    I know that some people really go for this lineup. However I feel that of all the pre- 94 lineups this was the least well equipped to do the ‘jam band’ thing
    Note for the unfamiliar. The RTM pre-boards are not full spectrum and not the full house mix. General consensus is that they are taken off a stage monitor feed. Some are very good, some have a strange imbalance and odd harsh tone to them.

    Excellent points. I see a lot of people raving about this period but I thought he was a mess from 1989-93. I hear a guy who really doesn’t give a crap and rushes his way through shows. The only show I saw during this period was Waikiki 1992. I think Bob and I were both hammered. Really I think he was just trying to find his way back after feeling like he was becoming a nostalgia act in the late 80’s. I do really like the Bucky Baxter/Winston Watson/John Jackson lineup. His heaviest hitting band. They tightened up in 1994(i.e. Woodstock). And like Mat, I’m a completeist.
