  1. Yep indeed
Apologies for the absence of any more constructive input. Certain touring periods invoke a more primal rock ‘n’ roll response in me, and remind me of why i’ve been such a devotee for so long. These last 2 anthology postings are perfect examples.

Mat, you’re making me wait for my all time fav ‘recent’ period. i.e. the late ’89 US tour Not to worry, they say it is character building, and God knows….

  2. Hiya, sorry – been busy busy busy. THINK i’ve resolved all malware issues, certainly killed off all ‘mining’ activities anyway. Before i expose anybody to any possible risk i’d still like to do a clean sweep of scans with all my tools. However in principle- how about a shared communal RTF file on Dropbox, split into 3 sections, where we could each keep an upto date personal listing, and maybe a shared section at the bottom where we could post links, suggestions etc for each other. Not been using Dropbox recently, drove me a bit mad b4 to be honest, however if it’s only updating a simple rtf then shouldn’t be too intrusive methinks.

Just off the top of my head, any thoughts from your end

    1. Sharing text files via Dropbox could work. Probably a little annoying to constantly be downloading/uploading but as they are small files shouldn’t be too hard.

You mentioned Reddit awhile back and I just remembered I created and moderated a subreddit several years ago. I called it ROIO and the plan was to share my shows and hopefully get others to share theirs as well. But then I discovered several other similar subreddits and let mine die. I just checked and it still exists even if it hasn’t been active in a long time. So we might be able to go over there. I can probably make it private as well so only the three of us would be able to see anything. Would that work for you.

The subreddit is located here if you want to look around.

      https://www.reddit.com/r/ROIO/

  3. hubba bubba! head over to g101 for that rarest of all beasts, Tom Waits shows from the Raindogs tour!
Bad news is that they are from ‘worldofbootleg’ which means Turbosh*t. Maybe we could take a few each, or we’ll be at it till christmas

I’m gonna start with the UK (Edinburgh London) shows. If you fancy it you could start at the end of the tour (top of page posts i think)

Can anybody else help – pleeeease!

I might put a req in to EDGE. As i’ve told the guy b4, great posts but you might as well put ’em on the moon.
    ‘Shhot the moon’ anybody?

  4. Got to go out again, but i’ll take a look later. Got Tom Edinburgh 85 d/l running, fingers crossed.
Incidentally I had in mind just one single rtf file. We could each edit and update our relevant sections and everybody’s copy would just auto update to the latest ver. I apprecriate multiple text files would be a major draggy scene as Jimi would have put it

  5. Got Edinburgh and first london show – Boy the Dominion was a great venue back then, Van, Tom, Rory. Saw some great gigs ther myself, incl Rory a few times

  6. I’ll check b4 d/long. To be clear, i’m concentrating purely on the 85 86 for now, and i’m going in date order. 4th (London 21st Oct) running now. Gothenborg, Oslo and Stockholm next

  7. Mat, for info – making good progress you can save your ratio for the other years, got the first 8 of the 85/86 shows already. Brussels just finishing, hope to grab Frankfurt, NY and Chicago later today. I’ll bundle ’em up and ‘zippy’ ’em for you when i get to the end.
Maybe at that point you can update me on any you’ve managed to grab and up from wherever. I was under the impression from the post notes that ‘WoB’ had some kinda exclusive on these. Didn’t want to suggest posting anything too soon. If he’s just grabbed from the torrents then what the heck, you can either post the other years here or just swap links privately with me. Otherwise if you don’t need them from me i’ll just carry on chipping away and hope for the best
Just great to find Rain Dogs shows anywhere. Been looking for over a decade and all i’ve come up with are a few crummy mp3s in low to moderate bit rates
@gjfatty. I’m 100% anti-DIME personally, Mat is of a more forgiving nature. Thanks for the input anyway

    1. I left a thanks on everything I grabbed. I gave up this morning. Turbobit is too frustrating. I try to download then have to wait ten minutes for a link by which time I’d flip to another tab and forget. Have to start process all over. Ugh, what a crap site.

  8. I understand, that’s why i was hoping a few people would ‘step up’ and help out a little. I mean it’s not impossible to d/l a few from Turbobit. I’ve managedto d/l 8 over a couple of days. You do have to wait a decent time (few hours) between d/ls, otherwise it will start looping around and making you wait. Trouble is if everybody just waits on my perseverance they may end up disappointed. I’m being as patient as i can but there is a very real possibility that at some point it will cr*p out on me completely and start looping me around on much longer waits. It’s doubly frustrating as I really need my TB ‘allowance’ for other things too.
Oh well, good luck with the ratios. I’m not being critical of you at all. Especially as you are bringing us all such great Dylan posts etc. I understand your frustration and your pc is always busy for the common good! However there must be lots of PCs/bandwidth/ratios out there in cafe land doin’ not too much at all.
I have to say if you are a Tom Waits fan and you are only interested in ‘easy’ and immediate downloads, then you are in for a very long and frustrating wait

    1. I do love me some Tom Waits and he is hard to find. However I already have so much music to listen to and there is so much more out there available from easier to download places. At some point I just decided I was going to stop having large queues from crap sites. Sometimes it hurts to say know to that stuff, but it make my life so much easier. So much of my time is spent blogging the stuff I do have its like I don’t have time to mess with super slow downloads.

Not that I mind you getting these shows and uploading them to Zippy 😉

  9. Believe me, i understand and relate to all those sentiments. I just apply different rules for Tom and Joni. Far fewer tours, shows per tour, fans, tapers, commercial boots and critically far fewer uploaders and sharers either online or old skool. For bands like Zep, Stones, Neil and Bob etc the pool is so large that even if 99.9% of people have a purely leeching attitude, it really doesn’t matter.
Fans of Tom, Joni, Arlo etc really should be helping each other out!
Understand i’m not lifting myself out of the ‘leeching’ category. Every day i am hoovering up the selfless efforts of others. Like i said b4, you just don’t see Tom Waits shows from the 80s tours anywhere, and for many people this is THE period.
In any case i have all the RD shows (12) in the can plus the 90 rehearsal and ‘mixed bag’ 88. I think we already have the ’77 pre-FM and Shaboo Inn sounds familiar too. Can’t check at the moment. I’m going after the rarer early shows you missed and Boston 99. If i have it then it is a different version.
Goes without saying that you are more than welcome to anything i’ve managed to grab. Not sure i want to encpourage others to just wait on me (or you) however. I’m sure when you do put the shows up there’ll be a flood of interest and i’m happyto boost the blog. Might make ’em wait a while though methinks

  10. Mat,
quick update. pc now verified clean. Tom w almost compl. Only prob is i’ve scanned and flushed the pc that many times, every setting cookie and saved pw etc has gone, so bear with me. RARs on way v soon. Need to check out this new alleged (untested) 500mb limit on zippy and check whether zippyuploader also respects it. I’m not upping it all manually so it’ll arrive in whatever size chunks i can manage. Need to get back to the offline disk management (space generating) activity i was on b4 all this TW stuff fell out of the sky. Then i should be able to make you one mega Waits archive and up it for you. Assuming I can remember the password that is!

  11. Mat,
Further to above and my prev comments and email. If u go here you’ll find Cleveland 77 Pre FM, Boston 77, the 73_74_75 radio compl, and 75 ‘Bottom Line SBD’ all in lossless with FF links. Obviously there is no point in me upping these
