LB-11418

Recorded By Phantom Power Productions, 50 Feet Back, Slightly Stage Left. Mic In Hat.
Transferred By OldNeumanntapr (DAT Master Was Borrowed For Transfer.)

(This Recording Is Uncirculated. Security Was Very Tight. Taper Pretended Top Be Drunk And Staggered Around To Divert Attention When Entering Show, While Deck Was Smuggled In Under A Woman’s Long Skirt.)

Source 2:

LB-2161

(80min), very good sound [B]; light background talking on t7, t9, talking t9 3:10; sound gets muffled on t9 for first 2 minutes

drop t9 1:20; t15 cuts out early and is incomplete

Source 3:

LB-7514

cut before Mr. Tambourine Man, encore

??2 -> cassette master -> cassette -> DAT – clone ->(digital transfer) m-audio delta audiophile 2496
-> Wavelab -> ssrc -> Wavelab, levels raised -> cdwave, tracking -> tlh

I did not harm the sound of the recording in any way

LB-2171

(50min+33min), version “a”; complete, background talking d1t2, d1t4, different recording than previous; this one is clearer, but other is warmer but has slight hiss; good to very good sound [B-]; a few spots of brief wind noise and mic noise

discontinuity pop d2t3 0:00, d2t4 0:00 (probably at mnost track boundaries), cdr quality deteriorates at about d2t3; digi-pop d2t3 1:26 ,2:11, 2:17, 2:30, 2:31, 3:29, bad background scracthiness on d2t3 through 3:5x, a few more scattered pops on remaining tracks like d2t4 0:43; drop d2t5 1:28 and some more background scratchiness

Source 5:

LB-7639

Another one I received in trade from Marcos, SHN on data DVD; once more coming from Massimo archives (Fabermy). Different less quality recording than LB-7514, might be same as LB-2161 or not (most likely not), but different version in any case as “Maggie’s Farm” is complete on this one. Had sbe and levels raised, clipping on right channel, mainly on d2. Cleaned up some small problems fixing sector boundaries, even deamplified both channels to a similar level and cut midrange and high ends making it a bit less harsh.

Fingerprints: d1t08 @ 0:08 a male voice yells requesting “It’s All Right Ma”; d2t01 @ 0:12 someone requests out loud, “Congratulations!”.

fixed flaws:

d1t03 @ [02:33.737-755] patched drop
d1t06 @ [00:01.008] digipop removed
d1t08 @ [00:03.651] 190 samples dropout patched
d2t01 @ [01:28.730-800] left channel drop patched
d2t04 @ [07:44.914-928] left channel gap patched

Taper: unknown
Lineage: ? > SHN (data DVD) > wav (mkwACT) > wav (adobe audition 1.0) > flac (flac frontend 1.1.3 – align on sb option – level 8 – verify on)

  1. Security was v tight for Bob shows at many venues around this time. I can remember the partners of some of the tapers complaining to me in the bar about having to go to Dylan gigs with a Sony tape deck strapped to their inner thigh!

  2. This date seems too early for a DAT recorder. Must have been mega expensive at the time. You wouldn’t have wanted to leave that with seurity. Can’t remember seeing a DAT from 89. Over here most of the tapers seem to hve made the switch late in 90 or early in 91
