Ambient Recording by Tapers From Hell: A Journey to the Impact Zone
Analog Masters by Mike French “Moke”
Sean Weber Small rig, Schoeps cmc?? (cardioid caps on mic bodies)
ORTF -> Oade pre (m118?) -> Sony F1/Beta rig, line out ->
Sony TC-D5M analog cassette master by MF. From FOB/DFC. Mics at 6’5″, at eye level to MF, covering the mics. The other mics were Neumann km84’s, ortf-> Neu. p48v -> Sony TC-D5M @ 6’4″
to 24/96 digital:
Sony TC-D5M master deck w/ master tape, no n.r. -> Tascam DVRA1000 DSD in PCM mode 24/96
to flac:
Tascam DVRA1000 DSD USB2.0 mode -> Mac Tiger 10.4 import, xACT conversion.
notes:
– there was a sub-second gap between d1t05-t06 which has been eliminated.
– I have spliced together the two recordings of Heaven’s Door so that it is now complete. The last 2:08 is from the Neuman source.
– downsampled to 16/44.1 using Adobe Audition 1.5, dithered with iZotope Ozone.
– retracked, new flacs, etc created, files have been renamed to Etree conventions
original notes and tracking:
This recording is from the exact same spot as 2-10-89,and 2-11-89, and the same spot for the next run of shows in december of this same year (all six shows of these ’89 Forum runs are from the same spot).
disc one filler:
d1t09 Knockin’ on Heavens Door, (schoeps fob that is incomplete, due to running out of tape, 8< …incomplete).(I threw in my backup tape, into the Neumann km84 patch chain, and got the Knockin version at the end of the second set disc, which ran out of tape also).
