Thank you for all the shows; this is a treasure trove beyond measure. I was particularly pleasantly surprised when this show turned up. I don’t normally go for audience recordings but I am prepared to make an exception in this case because I was actually at this gig. It was great to see and hear Van in the intimate surroundings of a small club rather than the usual arena or festival. Judging by the number of tissues he got through during the show he was obviously suffering from a bad cold but still gave it his all although it did nothing to alleviate his habitual taciturn moroseness. At over £200 a pop there’s no way I could have offered the tickets for this but thankfully my son’s girlfriend’s father was a member of Joey DeFrancesco’s band and got my wife and I on the guest list. What a treat! Thanks to whoever recorded this for the souvenir.
