The 1992 US Fall Tour has always been well regarded by collectors.
Digital recorders using DAT tape were now more common with the resultant quantum improvement on sound quality.
It was like going from black & white to colour TV – a whole new world opened up.

The performances are quite different to early 1992. There is now much more emphasis on long instrumental breaks on many songs.

Bob continues to radically change his setlist each night, with only four songs
(All Along The Watchtower / Boots Of Spanish Leather / Maggie’s Farm / Silvio) being played on all 20 nights.

On 3 November 1992, the Good As I Been To You album was released but Bob totally ignored it & played none of its songs live in 1992.
You can hear the audience calling out for these songs to no avail late in the tour. They had to wait until 1993 for that.

The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration in New York is not used here – it is copyright but the Bob performances are poor compared with the tour leg.

The tapes used here are from the best sounding circulating sources. A lot of work went into assembling them. Huge thanks to 10Haaf & others.

The 25 October Providence tape, which is in excellent sound quality, did not make the cut on any song.
23 October Newark almost suffered this fate with only one song. Providence has a lot of audience talking & Newark is just too harsh.

The big surprise was 10 October Lock Haven. Eight songs were sourced from this great tape. Jokerman rates it [B-]. It’s not, It’s [B+].

1992 was a huge NET year for Bob in terms of both quality & quantity. It was a year of evolution, not revolution.

Some great listening here – I hope you enjoy it.
