A seemingly uncirculated performance. Taper unknown. Received in trade by Chris Hecht. Cassette marked “1st gen.” There is a tape flip after Northern Muse and a second in the middle of Summertime in England. Both had already been faded in/out, which supports MC > C by the person making the C(1) tape.

As with many Van Morrison recordings, the vocals are mmrph luh rrrble da bada. Ozone 8’s Vocal Richness preset helps a bit, and also brought up the levels and put a little polish on things Still, the vocals are often incomphrehensable.

Baby Please Don’t Go through Brown Eyed Girl is a medley, as is the It’s All The Game > Make It Real segment, which may be the best part of the show. The crowd certainly reacts well to it.

https://etreedb.org/lookup_show.php?shows_key=27618 lists Bright Side of the Road and Tupelo Honey as the last two songs, but neither was present on this recording. That setlist was imported back when the db got started. The setlist was probably derived from Wavelength magazine (not the surfing one) and is probably correct.

The Band:

Van Morrison with …
John Allair – organ
Bob Doll – trumpet
Tom Donlinger – drums
Pee Wee Ellis – saxophone
David Hayes – bass
Chris Michie – guitar
Annie Stocking – backing vocals
Pauline Lozano – backing vocals

Fun stuff, enjoy!
