OldNeumanntapr Notes:
This, and the previous night, was the only time that I’ve ever been to the San Francisco Civic Auditorium, now re-named the Bill Gram Civic Auditorium.
I remember THIS night well! I went up with my friend Jeff Chase, who was a quadriplegic, and had never been to a Dead show before. Because he was in a wheel chair, they put us at the head of the line. I was literally the FIRST person through the door, on the night that was to become the very last time the Dead were allowed to perform at the SF Civic (because of severe damage to the botanical gardens caused by Deadheads.)
When I ran up to the balcony I was amazed to see only yellow-shirted staff members prepping for the show. I was the first person in the tapers section, but I elected to
give the front row to the more experienced tapers with better gear, and I took an aisle seat a few rows back.
Rather than re-extract my discs of this show, and lose the patches that Brad had installed, I downloaded these files from the LMA. I had to decode them to break the files into disc I, disc, II, disc III, as Brad marked them as two separate sets. Nothing else was changed, except that I tagged the files. FFps will match but MD-5 files will not.
Do NOT Convert To MP3.
Enjoy! Share freely, don’t sell, play nice, don’t run with scissors, etc. 😉
