OldNeumanntapr Notes – This is probably one of my finest audience recordings to date. The band was hot, the sound was awesome, and the recording really shines. It was a stealth show, as it turns out, for both me and the band! (I didn’t know if David LaFlame would agree to a recording or not, so I tried to remain inconspicuous.) The show was billed to begin at 9 PM (I think), but the music didn’t start until midnight. The story I heard was that the band needed to be paid in cash (and all the venue had was a check) because they didn’t want Matthew Katz, who owned the rights of all of David Leflame’s songs, to know that they had played. I don’t think the show was advertised very well, again, to keep Katz from knowing that they were playing. Apparently, the promoter finally rounded up the cash by midnight, so the band played from 12:00 PM to 1:30 AM. It made for a long drive home back to San Luis Obispo County! Yawn. This was another late night with my friends Dave and Brian.
