I watched 40 movies in August. 19 of them were made before I was born. 33 of them were new to me. Once again, I did not have a theme this month. I plan to start the movie themes again in October and hopefully keep them up all year long.
I don’t have a lot to say about these movies other than I watched some good ones, and I’ve found a nice balance between movies, TV shows, and books.

A few months ago, I subscribed to the Kino Film Channel. That’s a streaming station run by the Kino Lorber people. They have lots of great stuff, including some wonderful French crime flicks. I’ve been watching those quite a lot lately, which is why you see so many French actors in my top list. Including Lino Ventura, who is now tied with Tom Baker for the most-watched actor, with 9 films apiece.

It’s pretty much the same story for the most-watched directors list. Richard Fleischer jumps up to second place with four films, mostly because I watched a British Noir set and he directed all of them.
So, yeah, it was a good month. Here’s the full list.
