Notes:
JEMS master recording. Very good sounding recording. The vocals are a little muffled and muddy for the first few songs due to monitor and mic troubles on the stage but clear up as the show progresses. It is enough of a problem that Peter openly complains about it to the audience between songs until it is fixed. This show captures Peter touring in support of his second self titled album (Scratch). This show features the rarely played Mother Of Violence and we get learn about Peter’s guru who is a stuffed Teddy Bear along with other interesting stories Peter tells between songs. Included with the flac files are pictures taken from this actual show by Raelworld who was also at this show and snapped the pics used here.

..a very interesting and insightful interview.

I received this interview on cassette many years ago. I dubbed it onto Mini disc (MDSP)* sometime in the late 90’s.

The return of Gabriel to the Roxy was manic from the time tickets went on sale a month earlier. Less than 2 thousand tickets. 500 seats each show.
By opening night the walls could hardly contain all the energy. This new remaster really captures that.
About the sound at the Roxy. The speakers for the audience are left and right stacks, and overhead speakers above the stage speakers that carry most of the vocals. From the back of the theater you are about even with the overhead speakers and it sounds normal, but the closer you get to the stage, the more the vocals are over your head and muffled sounding.
For most of this show the mic was ON THE STAGE pointing up. So this recording is mostly, stage monitors, right next to the musicians and overhead vocals. Makes for a strange mix as they come closer to the mic.
As for the mic on the stage, at the start of Waiting For The Big One, a roadie found my mic and handed it to the first person in the audience, a minute or two later Peter jumped from the balcony (stage left balcony, no longer there) to the stage on the spot the mic was. After the song you can hear me put the mic back.
This was my 2nd time seeing Gabriel at the Roxy at 1st time taping. I got carried away.

I just used the Right channel for both, EQed it, A touch of verb to make stereo, and i corrected the dropout areas of the tape. I raised the frequencies that weren’t distorted and tried to lower slightly the ones that were distorted. Just a slightly better listen than the original (included for your discernment).

…and thats it.

Dear “dime” members,
We hope by now you been following along every Sunday with us as we explore more new uncirculated Audience Masters from our friends in Europe.
So inspired by these words every week by “Team Lampinski”-Always remember – “the more generous you are with your music, the more it comes back to you”.
With that in mind we now present the WILLIAM TELL EDITIONS(WTE).
“William Tell” is the name of the person who is providing the recordings and transfers of his various friends in the “European Taping Community”.
Several tapers including “William Tell” himself have recorded a wide range of various artists from the 70’s, 80’s and beyond.
It is these recordings we would like to dedicate to Dan Lampinski and his “Team” for all they shared with us.

And with that in mind i implore those that still have such “treasures” tucked away,
to please consider sharing them the way these generous people have.
None of us are getting any younger and what good will any of your recordings be when your dead.

So Ladies & Gentleman, Boys & Girls, Brothers & Sisters
For your entertainment & “earjoyment”
I present to you;

“WILLIAM TELL EDITION” 025

Hi to all
Welcome to my series of mostly uncirculated masters & very low generation shows that i recorded or received in trades in my younger days most of my masters have not been circulated or only traded once or twice i used to trade a lot in the 70s – 80s & i have many many shows well in excess of 7,500 tapes
Of these shows about 120 – 150 are my masters they where always on my trading list but not many got traded so i boxed them all up in the late 80s now i have decided to go through them & upload some of them.
I recorded many bands from Genesis ñ Bowie ñ Springsteen – Hawkwind – Hackett ñ Gabriel ñ Marillion plus many many others i will try & upload a least one show a week if not two. To record theses shows i used a Sony portable hand held tape recorder with built in stereo mics. I always used good quality tapes to record on mainly T.D.K.
I used to insert the tape deck in a empty coffee flask with the inside taken out of the flask to get past the security ah those where the days. The only thing i ask is please donít sell these recording & donít convert to mp3 etc & if you do ( only for your own use ). Please donít change any of the files or
info files etc this is so that people can tell the difference between this source & other sources as many people like to compare different versions of shows.
Also please do not remaster these shows the reason for this is these days there are far to many remasters of shows. Its ok have one remaster etc, but some are remastered that many times by different people there can be at least 10 different remasters of a show from the same source & it can get a bit tedious.

On to the show for your enjoyment Davros archives presents :-

This show was at the 2nd Knebworth festival in 1978 the first being the Genesis show in june.
The recording was sent to me in a trade in the early 80s and is good to very good quality. It possibly would of been better but it was quite windy as you can hear at times on the recording.
Having said that all in all it is very listenable show.

Many many thanks to the trader for sending me a copy & for the taper for recording the show.

I hope you enjoy this show please ask if you want to upload it to other sites as i will be uploading these shows to a couple of other torrent sites.

As Usual Please dont convert to mp3 ( only for your own use if you do ) Please Keep all the info files md5 etc in the folder tis is so that
other collectors know which version this is etc most of all DO NOT SELL
Please also buy the bands offical stuff and support them etc.
Thanks to all the Artists for there great music and to all the traders for keeping live music alive

A bit more than one week after the Oxford show seeded earlier, Gabriel¥s band moved to Norway for the first show of the tour
outside UK. This show was also captured on tape, and in good quality too! Setlist is evolving since Oxford but not too much.
Still missing Teddy Bear as opening track. But once again an extremely pleasant tape from RLR collection.

LDB Special Series #413 (RLR collection)

Out of my 7,000+ shows and radio broadcasts, I have many concerts that were special for some reasons: the setlist, the
musicians, the venue or unexpected events. These are the ones I’d like to propose you. Most of these come from my
cassettes collection, so they will be released at a slower pace than my Master Series! But you won’t be disappointed!
I will try to gather the most unusual things I have in my collection and, as always, your feedback and comments will be my
reward for all the work involved in this project.

DO NOT share this music on mp3, just convert it for your own use. Sharing mp3’s is the right way to make me stop sharing
music here.
