Total time: 56:21

Comments from original uploader: Scarcely circulated multianalog generation SBD recording. It has hiss – you’ve been warned. This is the raw transfer without any noise reduction.

The setlist of this recording differs from that on thejerrylist.com on the last 2 songs of the late show which lists “Tore Up Over You” and “Ride Mighty High” as the final two tracks. The end of DLG is not cut on this recording as listed on thejerrysite, though there was a small drop out on the master which was seamlessly removed (see below). There is no audible break in the music between the end of Don’t Let Go and How Sweet It Is. Quiet on-stage banter can be heard at a low level from the end of DLG that continues on through the countoff into How Sweet It Is. The version of “How Sweet It Is” is different than the one played during the early show and at the end Jerry says “Goodnight”.

Flaws:
d1t01 – first few notes missing
d1t04 – d/o at 08:41 removed using SF6 with a small amount of music missing.
d2t02 – d/o @ 07:08 with truncation of “yankee laid him in his grave” and the rest of the verse.
d2t06 – d/o @ 10:26 with small subsecond bit of missing music.
d3t03 – d/o @ 19:33 with a “BEEP” in the middle deleted with no apparent missing music.
There are a few tape pauses between tracks however the overall recording quality/level of hiss remains the same for the entire show, suggesting the entire recording is from a single source. The pitch was flat and I increased by .02 semitones corresponding to a transposition ratio of 1.01162 using SF6.

another installment of the misSHN in the rain, 2/04.

115-d2t08 – It’s A Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World 7:26
116-d2t09 – Viola Lee Blues -> Feedback 15:39

–Encore–
(missing) – And We Bid You Goodnight

–disc 1 total time–44:59–
–disc 2 total time–68:51–

Known flaws:
-Candyman cuts in at the second verse, “with your hair
a-hangin down.”
-High Time is listed in Deadbase and at the end of I Know You Rider
they start to go into High Time but the AUD tape cuts after one second.
After the splice Good Lovin’ starts. It’s conceivable that they didn’t
actually go on to play High Time. (From Deadlists)
-And We Bid You Goodnight encore is missing.

From Deadlists:

COMMENTS: The timings represent a composite of the SBD and AUD tapes. The
SBD contains Schoolgirl and Cumberland through Feedback. The AUD master is
excellent and often mislabeled “SBD;” the circulating copy contains
Schoolgirl through Deep Elem and Uncle John through Feedback.
There are partial selections and multiple sequences of the AUD tape in
circulation, often mislabeled “SBD,” and there are also parts of the 4/9/70
SBD in circulation mislabeled “4/12/70.” The list given above follows the
2-CD composite tape of the AUD with the SBD reels that was assembled and put
into circulation by Nathan Wolfson and David Gans.
The Bill Graham Intro of Schoolgirl goes “If the Dead End Kids were alive
today, they would be called “The Grateful Dead.” Jerry sings only the
first two stanzas of China Cat before jumping off into the jam.
At the end of I Know You Rider they start to go into High Time but the AUD
tape cuts after 1 second. After the splice Good Lovin’ starts. It’s
conceivable that they didn’t actually go on to play High Time. There is a
Tighten Up jam starting around 4 minutes into Dancin.
This is all one long set. Candyman, Deep Elem, Cumberland Blues, Dire Wolf,
Black Peter, and Uncle John’s Band are all played with electric instruments,
not acoustic.

The AUD tape of Candyman cuts in at the second verse, “with your hair
a-hangin down.”

Cary Wolfson attended this show and remembers the Dead coming back out to do
the We Bid You Goodnight encore.

Notes from the original uploader:
This is the complete show. The SBD contains //Me & My Uncle through
Uncle John//, the rest is spliced in from the AUD tape recorded by Harry Ely.

Contrary to the current Deadlists entry, the Other One, Drums and Lovelight
are both complete – they were spliced in from a very old source which had
these segments intact.
