Like so many Springsteen boots this one comes with a sound that is less than stellar. I don’t know what it is about Springsteen tapers, but they never seemed to master the fine art of audience recording.

  1. Actually, there are some good auds out there….Kansas City Night in fact, from the Born In The USA tour almost sounds like a soundboard….this coming from someone who rarely bothers with audience recordings, btw.

Man, I was happy to see that Hornsby show from ’90 last night on Dime. Good stuff.

  2. You are right, of course, there are some good Springsteen Auds, its just that the majority of the shows I find almost always have enormous amounts of crowd noise in them which overpowers whatever is being played.

Maybe its just because I have more experience with Grateful Dead boots, but it seems like their audience recordings are almost always massively better sounding than Springsteens.

I saw a couple of early Hornsby shows on DIME today that I hope to grab.

  3. Mat, I’ll be giving my friend her birthday gifts on the 5th of August. Thanks anyways for looking for the show.
