At some point it gets a little ridiculous as to how many sources, and versions of sources their are, but I can’t help but collect them all.

Plus Menke was/is a Bay Area guy. It’s not impossible that he would have gone down to L.A. to tape, but much more likely that he would have been at the Warfield.

One of Dylan’s essential concerts. However, this is half the show, the other being on a separate disc (Contract With the Lord part 2). Also, according to bobboots : Unfortunately, the CD mastering was done incorrectly and the result is that the entire performance is about 20% slower than the original recording.

Turns out I actually had the second part of the show. The torrent I got it from had divided it up into two sections and I uploaded it that way. Then when I posted I forgot that I had the other part ready to go, but found it today. So enjoy.

Good call GERBRAND, you saved me some serious typing there. This is a great peformance and we were overjoyed for many years to have such a good recording of it. I’m not sure about the 20% personally, seems a tad high. Mind toy when you consider tyhat speed changes of upto 5% are almost imperceptible to most people. I mean Bob himself increased the speed of the final ‘Blood On Tracks’ by 4%. When you know about it in advance, you can hear it at times in certain songs if you listen closely. If you want the ‘true’ speed master you have to listen to the boot release masters, or for the final album mix the CBS ‘Mastersound’ vinyl release.
Anyway, regardless of speed issues the upgrade you linked to is significant and worthwhile. Although in a weird kind of way it is almost a shame when these classic boots become redundant. Speed correction just wasn’t an affordable or accessible technology for most boot labels in the 90s, and Silver Rarities were one of the best labels.
