SOURCE: Soundboard
LINEAGE: SBD > Master Reel > PCM > DAT > CD-R>EAC>SHN
REEL PROBLEMS:
Sugaree (d1t05) 6:59 – 7:01 there is a funny reel generated boo boo
PITB (d2t01) 8:42 another reel problem
Franklin’s (d2t09) there is a reel change in there that is one of
the betterones we’ve heard.
ALL of these are in every copy I have heard and are believed to be
from the Master Reel.
Thanks to the DaveTree for getting this to me.

Editing and mastering by The Wizard –
This is the older of two currently circulating soundboard sources
for this show. The newer one is highly compressed and I think the
older one has better dynamics. Both will be available from the OBV.
Most tunings were cut on this source. They were restored from a
SBD>MR>C>C>CD source that I have had for some time.
Other patches were supplied by the AUD tape,
AUD: Sony ECM-280>Sony TC-153SD>MC>RR>DAT>CDR.
Here is a general summary.
The cut start of Estimated was restored from the Aud source.
The glich in Sugaree patched with the Aud source.
The glich in Sampson patched with the Aud source.
The glich in Music was was patched with the alt SBD source.
The glich in Franklin’s was patched with the alt SBD source.
The flip in Around patched with the Aud source.
Lots of misc. pops removed.
All patches were processed to match the source as best as possible.
All editing and mastering done with DCArt Millennium Software.

PCM501ES analog out > Fostex D5 @ 48kHz >
Fostex D5 optical S/PDIF out (Jace’s tape) > disk
Transferred by Tim Deibert 2-17-2002
NOTES:
* Sound Forge 5.0 peak normalization to 98%.
* Tuning and stage chatter has been preserved.
Notes from trailmix 3-14-07:
Ü Project WBOTB
Ü these shns were SBE fixed (by set), then encoded to flac16 (level 6).
This entire process was repeated, resulting in identical wav md5s.
Ü The original shns were created in 2002, but they’re not in circulation
and didn’t exist in the database (which is why these shns were converted
and fixed).
KNOWN FLAWS:
d1t04 dropout @ 7:02 (missing some crowd noise)
d1t05 fades in (missing some tuning and first couple notes)

Recording by Rob Bertrando
Transferred September 20, 2010
Thank you to Jace, Tim Diebert and Trailmix for the SBD transfer,
to Joe B. Jones for help with pitch correction,
and to Rob Bertrando for recording the show and generously providing the AUD, as well as feedback.
Matrix by Hunter Seamons using Final Cut Pro (FLAC > AIFF > Final Cut w/EQ > AIFF CD tracking via Audacity > FLAC16 via xACT)
October 1, 2010
Notes:
1) A faint, warbly sound begins during Eyes onward, apparently from the sound system since the AUD has a similar effect.
2) Several brief cuts were in both SBD and AUD, but did not overlap, making the show now complete.
love it. thanks a ton

Oh–My–God–Chandler–Bing !!
This is a great setlist and a great set…..
BUT – in terms of SQ this matrix (r.p. via decent stereo),
is easily the equal of any official archival releases from
the 70’s (good as they are). But where it really scores is in terms of:
Rhythmic/organic ebb and flow
3-dimensional presence
PLUS – the sound from the crowd – to hear (eg) the
shouts at the start of Jerry’s first solo on Sugaree,
and then the cheers at the close of the solo……
it all adds up to VIBES, VIBES, VIBES
I just got blown away… new benchmark for me,
yessirree!
P.S. – Keith is wonderfully present in the mix.
What can anybody say? – many thanks to all involved.
