““Marie’s Wedding” – Taken from the the SBD Bootleg CD – Dark Shades of The Soul.”
?
Yes, it was to be included – but was cut from the recording, and the message left behind in the Info and Setlist – “LACKING”.
Therefore a transfer error must have messed up this track as Van did play the song, as a way to preserve the original live set-list I added “Marie’s Wedding” from the same year 1988.
(Also found oddly enough as track #10 on Van Morrison’s Bootleg CD – Dark Night of The Soul – 1988).
The actual recording date and venue of the song is :
Ulster Hall, Belfast 1988 September 15th.
Just a few months after the Fife Aid Concert.
I know, for the Purist, it’s best not to mess with the tracks – add or delete anything – the downloader can delete the track if one chooses too and all will be right with the world again.
Or
The downloader can listen and leave the track and all will be right with the world again.
Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Delete, Delete, Delete, ,,,,,,,,,,,,, Doh!
LOL
Oh – thanks “IntheGarden” for pointing out that I needed to edit that out – it was not “Dark Shades of The Soul.”
BUT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Van Morrison’s Bootleg CD – Dark Night of The Soul
Dark Night, Dark Shade, it’s all very confusing for me at some point, by the by I finally have gotten my hands on the real deal Flac version of DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL, which every one knows is an absolute freaking mind blower CD.
Mr. “IntheGarden” what request might you have for a Van Morrison show you would like to see shared here at The Midnight Cafe?
You certainly have earned the right to ask for anything – Much Respect for always helping others here with your advanced knowledge of Van and other topics.
“a transfer error must have messed up this track as Van did play the song”
He did play the song at Fife Aid but for whatever reason, It was never included on this particular recording in the first place.
Incidentally, it’s actually DARK KNIGHT OF THE SOUL

thank you so much FM….you made my day…..
Thanks for this great show. Hard to find shows where Van plays Someone Like You. That’s my wife and I’s wedding song. Really appreciate finding a quality live version!
Thanks for this FM – great sound, and the setlist concentrates on one of my very fave Van albums, the one nobody talks about (“Poetic Champions Compose”) much. Wonderful stuff!!

Oh yes, fantastic setlist. A fusion of ‘Poetic Champions’ and ‘Irish Heartbeat’, presumably without the Chieftains as they are not listed. I’ve got some vague recollection that they were actually at this gig. Doesn’t really matter, this one is coming down immediately and will be much appreciated either way!
Thanks Mat, more high octane fuel for the fire

OK, no Paddy and no uilleann pipes, but mercifully no bagpipes either!!
The sound isn’t absolutely perfect (pretty good) but the music definitely is!

Sorry correction, sound is better than i suggested. My Bose ‘cans’ which demand a ‘AAA’ battery tend to break up and fragment the sound when the battery is draining. I’ve exhausted all my supplies, emptied the cupboards and the remote controls. Now i’ve had to resort to rechargeables of unknown lineage! Determined to get to the end of this gig. You have surpassed yourself Mat, an absolute gem. The Poetic Champions tracks are sublime, possibly even exceeding the orig album takes.

Some interesting background info, pics etc and some interesting recollections from Jim Condie on how Van’s pickup band came together. Personally I think they did a great job.

So Nice to re-upload this one.
Is there any chance for “Alive in Mystery” (1987) and ” Groningen, Netherlands ” (1992)
That’s a wonderful work.
Many thanks
