  1. Mat, I’m giving it a go with dropbox, just uploading one of the Les Kokays, a nice soundboard from ’76. Basically it’s the soundtrack from the earlier unreleased Hard Rain video. Not too long but excellent so a good one to try. I’ll email you a link if/when i reach that point. So far only the text file has made it up the ladder to the cloud!

I seem to have collected the first dead part from mega without problems, now i just need to work out how to stop the mega extension directing all the downloads to my desktop

  2. OK Bob is sent, check your email when it suits and let me know if we have achieved success first time up.
Oh and typo, please correct Kookay to Kokay, kept freaking the software so i decided i’d better leave it be.

Enjoy, it’s a great show, then somebody decided a muddy college campus in the rain would make a much better TV special! I actually have both the films on DVD – another day…

  3. I discovered this site yesterday:
I was inspired to do a search for Springsteen’s Roxy LA ’75 shows again and this site came up. It is amazing. The goal of the site is to make available every Crystal Cat release. I haven’t opened my first D/Led RARs yet, but from their size I believe these posts are in FLAC or SHN.
His storage site is “DDL” and their access path is simple, but they cap free D/Ling at 700mb/24hrs.
He just uploaded another Springsteen today, but the index post shows that he’s already posted pretty much every CC release ever!
Among many other jewels, Neil Young 8/27/88 is there. If you don’t have that, you are several orgasms short of a full life!

  4. ps you are right, it doesn’t get better than CC, except where a better tape source has surfaced since their release, for example the reent JEMS transfers of Bruce 78. Their post production is as good as anybody’s but the real magic is in their own recordings. They obviously use several prof mics and mix down the results with professional kit. Sometimes their recordings sound better than soundboard, i’ve had good seats at many Dylan gigs which didn’t sound anything like as good as the CC boot!!

  5. sorry don’t mean to go on BUT IMPORTANT WARNING!!!

If you are thinking of taking out an account with DDL be very careful – DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE A TRADITIONAL CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD – The transaction goes over an unencrypted network and therefore IS NOT SECURE, Another problem you would face is that it is all in Czech, I did it once with a cash funded pre-pay card and some translation software.

sorry but I couldn’t have slept easy if I hadn’t shared that.

On the subject of sharing Mat, do let me know if it worked or how the process could be refined. I didn’t FLAC the files as I’m not on my power pc and I couldn’t face watching the tutorial so I just did it all on the fly. I did send a d/l link to you, just not certain that it points to the whole directory – software is new to me and a bit vague

  6. Thanks. I never give any of these guys my credit card number. There are way too many free sites for me to pay for the hosting. Plus they tend to be shady or go out of business or screw you in other ways for me to want to give out that kind of thing. Oh and I’m poor. But thanks for the heads up.

I sent you an e-mail DylanDave. I got the show just fine, plays great. Or at least the one track I’ve listened to so far did. I’ll convert it to FLAC/MP3 sometime in the (relatively) near future and post it sometime after that.

  7. Whatever suits, I’m gonna stop rambling on so much and leave a bit more room for others to chip in (lol) I think there’s some good constructive post hippy music chat happening in the cafe these days. I am however going to stick some more personal picks in the dropbox folder just for you to enjoy and share if you feel lnclined to.
I’ll still be following the comment chat and sticking my beak in from time to time if I feel I have anything useful to contribute.
If there is anything in particular you feel driven to share with the world, crystal or otherwise, just let me know and i’ll get it to you vis dropbox
    Loving all the Dead posts

Take it easy, I’m getting back to the baseball

Oh and do let me know whenever you complete a particular download, just so I can clear it out and replace it – 2GB aint much these days!!
