  3. Was wondering when these would make an appearance. The mix here is a kind of live as it happened matrix. The balance of the mix is spot on and the performances are (for the most part) very good. Most seem to consider these superior to ‘unplugged’ but personally i like both in equal measure. Contrary to stuff you might have read, not all arrangements/performances here are perfect!
    Just noticed this is the JTT composite set – pretty sure I have a Scorpio ‘Genuine’ complete Supper Club 4 cd set. I’ll have a dig around and might even dl these to compare. If i can find anywhere to put ’em that is.

    Well done package. Dylan planned on releasing these live recordings but for some reason they were rejected by his record company. Dylan released his MTV unplugged performance instead. I assume that his label felt that having an MTV release would push sales. None the less these Supper Club tracks are considered the original unplugged performances.

    For ref these recordings are excellent, however Bob is not in particularly great voice during this period. His singing is a level below that on the unplugged shows (even the unreleased stuff) and never achieves the same kind of throwback youthful energy and sweetness.

    They are of course still necessary to have. The sound is actually a kind of live real time matrix from the desk and a few ambient mics in the venue.
