Hi all, just a note to say Plumdusty is sharing some of Mason B. Taylor’s AUD masters of the Dead. New to me but lineage suggests good things
copied from post
Mason B. Taylor was a taper from Chicago that recorded concerts by many bands in the Chicagoland area and on Dead tours. He used a Nakamichi 550 with Nakamichi 300 mics with shotgun capsules for most of his earlier recordings. In later years he used Sony D-5 and Sony D-3 cassette recorders with Nakamichi 300 mics
kinda sounds like they are relatively new to circulation – might be of interest to some. Maybe somebody with better knowledge than me can compare to SBD sources for completeness etc, or even whether SBD sources exist for these dates. If not they are definitely essential i would have thought
