  1. Alright. My speeds are really very fast. I uploaded this show in like ten minutes. I’m still strangely nervous about doing things like uploading or streaming video in the middle of the day. I’ve been on satellite internet for so long I immediately panic when I think I’m running up my bandwidth during non-free hours.

I torrented a couple of shows, but for some reason all it did was download and didn’t upload any bit at all. That will be worrisome soon as my ratio will go to crap. Anybody know anything about torrents?

My biggest issue now really will be having the time to get everything ready. But I hope I can still get at least one show up a day.

    Enjoy.

Not a torrenter so can’t offer any specific advice. Need to think about things which might have changed, I’m assuming same pc/mac with same connection LAN/WiFi,? same software install?

In the absence of any rational explanation and ruling out any nasty ISP intervention (please God) my first instinct would be to re-nstall the torrent client software and allow it to ‘find’ the new internet connection. Shouldn’t need to do this but I’ve seen many similar type situations when software doesn’t self-adjust to new environment. Alternatively it could be firewall related for similar reasons. I know these don’t sound plausible but i’m assuming we are looking for a bug/issue situation rather than any ‘rational’ explanation.

Might want to wait on any torrenter input before you try anything too drastic however

as a side note Zippy should be awesome with your new fibre connection – i’m regularly pulling 2mb

  3. Thank you !
I have recently come across some old Dylan bootlegs that I had stored away. If I could only learn how to upload things !

  4. I was thinking about reinstalling the torrent application anyways as its been a little buggy for awhile (when I try to delete a torrent the software freaks out and shuts down.) Or maybe I’ll try a different torrentor altogether. It was just weird as it was downloading the files super fast and connecting to loads of other leechers, but for some reason there was no upload activity.

Marcus, its actually fairly easy. Drop me a line at brewcritic@gmail.com and I can walk you through the process.

  5. Oops, I spoke to soon Marcus. I see you already shot me an e-mail. I’ll try to write out an explanation for you later tonight.
