  1. Wow Mat, you have them coming fast! This is one I have already in lossless, and I must say that apart from a typically good Bird Song it doesn’t do much for me.. But some great shows are just around the corner!

    1. I was a Maxell man all the way. Ok, now I’m getting floods full of memories of filling out those tiny little j-cards with careful notes on the source and generation. I love that I can now download and upload shows very quickly, but there was something special about sending/receiving those packages full of tapes in the day.

  2. I used Maxell tapes as well. I am transferring a Steppenwolf concert that i recorded in 1988. I recorded this show a using Maxell UDS-II 90 brand cassette. I purchased a used JVC TD-W309 hxpro Cassette deck at a church rummage sale earlier this week. After cleaning and demagnetizing the deck I inserted a store bought cassette tape by bassist Danny Thompson which was recorded on high performance pro II tape. The title of the tape is ‘Whatever’. The sound quality is absolutely amazing! I used to trade tapes with a dead collector. He sent me a copy of the GDead – Moscone 1982 Vietnam Vets benefit show SBD on Maxell XL II cassettes. I transferred the cassettes to cd-r and they sound really nice. Nothing like the Warm quality of Cassettes.
