Jerry Garcia & Friends
10/21/68
Jefferson Airplane House
San Francisco, CA
The text file is dated differently that the information in the actual text file. A little research indicates no one is quite sure which date is correct (if any of them) but most people lean toward the 1968 date.

Notes:
Great disc! The sound quality is exceptional IMO, it almost sounds like it was recorded in a studio setup. The actual lineup of musicians is unclear at this
time, but there is obviously at least Jerry, percussion, & bass throughout with another guitarist in the mix on a few tracks.
Known Flaws:
A high pitched tone which was present on my CDR copy at roughly 0:12 – 0:23 of track 01 was edited out using EAC’s wave editing function.
A 1-second pause at about 14:19-14:20 on the master dt06 was edited out also using EAC.
Much thanks to Morgan Evans for putting this gem into my hands!

Mat,
Seeing this re-posted inspired me to listen to it again. I’ve previously had a 10/28/69 date on it, but 10/21/68 makes so much more sense. It’s very clear that this is Jerry jamming with Jack Casady and Mickey Hart. There are at least two Mickey and the Hartbeats shows (10/10/68 and 10/30/68) where Casady plays some or all of the show with Jerry and Mickey. So this jam session right in the middle of those dates would be Jerry, Jack and Mickey playing together. The other guitarist? Could be Jorma but who knows for sure? Anyway, that’s my effort at music sleuthing for the day!
Or the other guitarist could be Elvin Bishop, who played with Mickey, Jerry and Jack on both 10/10 and 10/30/68. There’s nothing like idle speculation to keep the mind active, is there?. Anyone else care to share their thoughts?
I hope all is well with you and your family Mat. Stay healthy!
Thank you for your sleuthing. I’m always fascinated by this sort of thing, but am useless when it comes to figuring it out for myself.
