  1. this is a special show: there is (was) special magic when van & linda gail lewis performed together. it did not last long, i am thinking because it was just TOO HOT! they did the “you win again” album and then recorded “choppin wood” that was never officially released (2001). (stories abound) …but they were great together and i hope more shows might show up with them together on stage.

    1. some research suggests that linda gail lewis and her band (red hot pokers) opened for van for 13 shows jan 7 – mar 16, 2001. i was reading liner notes on a bootleg “choppin wood” cd that said van embarrassed her on stage and that was “it” ….i wonder if there is a tape floating around from march 16th that might tell the story?
