Source: Audience Recording
Lineage: Nak 700’s – 3 mic mix (L & R Cardoids 6 db EQ, center Omni. 35′ from stage) > Mixer > Sony TC-D5 >
MAC (Maxell MX 90’s) > Nakamichi ZX-7 > Tascam HD-P2 > 24/96 Wave > Adobe Audition >
Wavelab with iZotope Ozone > iZotope RX Advanced > 16/44.1 Wave > CD Wave > TLH > flac16.

Notes:

– tape pauses between some tracks, and tape flips after Cumberland Blues and Barbara Allen have been crossfaded
– Drums patched 10:21 – 10:29 source: SBD > Cm > PCM > Dat > CD > Cool Edit Pro > CD > SHN > TLH > FLAC (shnid 8211)
– seamless change between discs 2 and 3

Comments:

– the mix changes just after the start of It’s All Over Now

– another great recording. Thanks to Mark for lending his masters to LMPP

Tapers Notes:

– Jaime built the mic mixer and we all taped from the free throw line on the floor at the Oakland Auditorium. The mic’s
went from the mixer into my Sony TC-D5M. There was also a patch bay, but I don’t remember how many decks were
plugged in. I went to 10 New Years runs / shows from 1977 to 1990 and the 1981 run was my favorite.

– Taped by Mark Severson, he who wishes to remain anonymous, and Jamie Poris

2nd Set Pre Drums SBD>Cm>PCM>Dat>CD>Cool Edit Pro>CD
2nd Set Post Drums SBD>Cm>Reel>Cass>CD

Notes-

Disc two will require 80 minutes as tracked, with the encore (Casey Jones) at the end of disc one

I used Cool Edit 2000, CD Wave and Shntool to retrack, eliminate some dropouts, and verify sector boundaries

This is different from SHNID 8211 in that it provides the first three songs of the second set which are missing from 8211.
