Bertha Remaster of the master reel source

SBD>>MR>>DAT>>CDA>>DAW(Bertha)>>CDA/SHN – Sound A

Notes:

Digitally remastered using a custom built, Dual DAW, nicknamed Bertha, by jashley@deadacated.com. Completed on 6/14/2004.

Very light noise reduction (pure sample) applied to make the tape hiss a bit less noticeable.

Dropout at 6:04 in After Midnight and at 10:20 of Harder They Come.

Source: sbd > master reel > dat (48k)
Provided by Rich Gastwirt
Transfer: Dat > Sony PCM-R500 > Sound Devices 744T > wav 16/48
Transfered by Charlie Miller
Lineage: wav > iZotope RX6 Advanced > Adobe Audition 1.5 > iZotope Ozone 5 Advanced >
CD Wave > TLH > Flac 16

Notes:
– Level adjustment made at the start of “Sugaree”
– The start of “How Sweet It Is” is slightly clipped. This wasn’t noticeable on other circulating copes as they have been faded in.
– There is a splice in “The Harder They Come” at about 10:15 which has been smoothed out.

Thanks to Rich and Charlie

  1. Did they play the cassette used for source 4 through the Rialto sound system and use the house sbd to mix the multiple mics used during recording?
