A massive thunderstorm rolled through my little town late Saturday night. It brought with it extremely high winds and tornadoes.
My family is safe. The storm blew over a tree in my backyard and smashed up my fence. Lots of shingles came off my roof.
Power has been down across the town including at my house. They originally said it might take a week to get power back but some places already have it. My parents got it back last night so we stayed with them.
I’m writing this on my phone. I’ll try to put some pictures up later. I won’t be able to do any real blogging until we have power.

Sorry to hear about this Mat, i am very glad you and your family are safe. Hopefully power can be restored for everyone. Living in the UK, it is impossible to imagine such extreme events as tornadoes. I have experienced some awful weather here as the world seems to be changing climate wise, but not regularly. On a minor note, i finally watched Blood Simple last night, and i thought it was excellent. The best film i have seen in a while. Anyway take care, and i hope things calm down for everyone asap.
Tornados are crazy, but so are Oklahomans. Rather than take shelter native Okies sit on their front porch and watch. Some of us even go chasing after tornadoes!
Yikes, purely for those who need their adrenaline levels extra high.

Best wishes to you. We had a EF2 tornado roll through south of town several weeks ago that tore up homes, woods, and a good part of a Federal Express building. Fortunately, we had no casualties. It is absolutely frightening how random Nature can be in its brutality.
Speaking of the movie Blood Simple, there are several versions that have been released of various lengths and changes in tunes in the soundtrack. My preference is the first release, which I found on laserdisc (I went on a laserdisc jag for several years when I was a youngster, believing that laserdisc was the superior format).
Tornados are terrifying. My high school was smashed by one back in the mid-90s.
Yes, the Coens did a director’s cut of Blood Simple many years ago. That seems to be the only version available now on DVD/Blu-ray.
