OldNeumanntapr Notes:
This was my first time back to the Frost since the Dead’s Mother’s Day show in May of 1986. I tried recording that one, but though it wasn’t as dismal a failure as my 1986 Cal Expo shows, it still left a lot to be desired. I remember that we parked next to a newer VW Vanagon camper in the lots with some cool bumper stickers. One said ‘One Nuclear Bomb Can Ruin Your Whole Day!’

I liked the Frost. it was a nice smaller outdoor venue to see the Dead. We were on the left side of the tapers section and there was a bit of wind at times, but overall it wasn’t a bad recording. I included some photos that I took at the Frost two years earlier, in 1986. One is of me sitting in the tapers section. Some people were using socks as wind screens! Hey, any port in a storm I guess! These were shot with my old Pentax MX and 50 mm f/1.7 lens on Kodachrome 64.
