I had a hard time with this book. It is angry and sad, and so full of cruelty and abuse (given to the author, not the other way around) that it was difficult to read. It is also very, very Millennial, so it felt like it wasn’t for me. Which isn’t to say there isn’t a lot to recommend. Jaq has a strong voice and a distinctive artistic style, which definitely makes it stand out.
