The recent great Santa Barbara upload of schwinn reminded me, I have an excellent show from this period to share for you as well.
It’s for those of you, who missed it last time around.
It was upped here by me before 2 years ago, and was snatched 178 times between April 2007 and September 2008.

For the reseed the flac-files remained unchanged, I just created a new txt-file and a new file integrity signature list.

lineage: low gen tape-cdr-trade-cdr-eac-flac-dimeadozen-you
(the transfer to cd then might even have been from mastertape or 1st gen).

Thanks to Tom at Sugar Mountain

I got this very nice recording in a trade a couple of years ago ago. The sound is excellent.

Enjoy! Please do not sell or encode to mp3. Never ever!!!
Share it with your friends.

Alternative recording to LB-2207/LB-2365 & LB-3637

‘Enthusiastic’ crowd, recorded from the boozed-up cheerleaders section…

One of my favourite shows from the US Summer 89 run….Bob & band are flying or ‘sucking diesel’ as we say in this
corner of the world.

This recording probably won’t merit an equivalent rating to the extant LBs but I would choose this
version every time when listening to this show. This recording just has more character and presence which
compliments a typical late 80s rambunctious show.

Removed micro-gaps between most tracks with GoldWave.

in 3-way comparison these are different recordings based on different crowd at end of d1t4;
this has the fullest sound; then LB-2365 which also has most hiss; and then LB-3637;
very good sound [B]

at beginning of d1t1 has occasional static; small gaps between tracks

Request from a Dylanbuddy in N.Y., who also taped this show…

Stereo audience recording, 85 minutes

The set starts off pretty scruffy (halfway into the 1st song) but picks up nicely after that. The rest of the songs are just fine although this set admittingly sounds quite metallic…

Lineage: DVD+R > copied SHN files to HDD > (checked MD5Sum=OK) > decoded to WAV > CoolEdit Pro2000 (checked; see below for fixed tracks) > FLAC frontend (encoded to FLAC; aligned on sector boundaries) > DIME

Fixed tracks:
06 Rainy day women # 12 & 35: (dropout at appox. 2:10 removed)
09 Gates of Eden: (dropout between 3:45-3:47 removed)
10 Gotta serve somebody (several dropouts at the beginning removed and spliced; hardly audible).
Next step: Left channel boosted 3dB on some tracks
Likewise, right channel boosted 3dB on others
All in all set is now quite balanced

LB-2365

(72min+14min), very good to excellent sound [A-]

NOTES : very good to excellent sound [A-]

update 1/05 (thanks jbolley) :

Transition gaps fixed between tracks using careful digital editing.

Repaired the worst of the spikes during opening – three slivers of static were removed during intro.

Track markers moved to be better positions.

First ~7 seconds of d1 track 1 has been attenuated 8.0dB to compensate for the tapers record volume adjust – this is only on crowd noise during intro.

There is a break in the source between d1 track 7 and 8. no change made.

Taper: unknown

DAT > SHN: Tascam DA-30mkII > Zefiro ZA-2 > WinNT4 PC > SoundForge 4.0 > CD Wave 1.9 > mkwACT 0.96f
48.0 > 44.1kHz hardware conversion on-the-fly via Zefiro ZA-2
Converted by Jason Reiser

Notes: * This is commonly listed as DSBD. To my ear, this sounds like a
mix of board and audience mics. In particular, a pair of mics
are bumped at 63:36 (disc 1) – note the voices and right-to-left
scuffle. Also note at 8:27 (disc 2) somone says, “Chuck, watch
the fence”. This is probably one of the tapers. The board feed
is much louder than the audience mics in the mix, so I can see
why it may have been mislabeled so easily. Call it whatever you
like – it sounds wonderful.

Fixes: a few digital glitches removed- d1 16:06, 48:43, 63:54
it’s almost 100% now. 🙂
first 30 seconds of d1 was about -6dB on right – corrected.
(not a perfect fix, but a bunch better.)
