Here’s the first of 4 Boarding House shows I’d like to put up over the next few days (5/24 early and 5/25 late are still running). I received them through the old Rust etree site several years ago. A couple of shows, although known to have been taped, I’ve never seen anywhere. I’m sure there must be more of these gems out there somewhere!

t01 a few seconds of the intro is missing
t08 a few seconds of intro is missing an unfortunately there are two
flaws a little when the fast-forward button of the recorder was
pushed accidentally.
t14 similiar short flaw as in t08

Taped by a friend with a cheap taper recorder placed on one of the
tables at the Boarding House. The master cassettes were lost in a house
robbery years ago. This is not as good a recording as the 1978-05-24
(early) and 1978-5-27 (late) shows that commonly circulate from master.
However, it is quite listenable and was one of my prized possessions for
years as most of these songs were not released at the time of this show.
All the Boarding House shows are fabulous with Neil at the peak of
powers.

This is a nice recording EXCEPT at many of the volume peaks there is a
slight but noticible distortion that sounds like someone bumping a
microphone. However this show is not widely circulated so I share it as is.

Some nice Neil chatter on here with him at one point admitting writing
Cortez, Ride My Llama and a third unnamed song in one day.

A few rough edits were merged to make seamless. This version also has a minor glitch removed during “Thrasher” that was present in the previous mastering, but not in the original recording. Sectors were aligned using Chuck King’s WAVTool for Mac.
