  1. First, thanks so much for all of the Van Morrison posts, I have all of his studio and official live albums but many of the bootlegs capture him at his best. I was fortunate enough to see him twice in Boston and at Great Woods in my home state of Massachusetts and he was incredible both times. If you can ever find his Van the Man bootleg, the instrumental Caledonia Soul at nearly eighteen minutes is a real treat. I have had it on vinyl for nearly forty years and was fortunate enough to download it from the web. two years ago.

The Mp3 link for this download leads me to a 1995 Wilco in Minneapolis download. Could you please re-post the link for the Belfast performance?

Thanks for all you do. It’s no mean feat tracking down and posting all of the music that you post. Your blog is unique and I greatly appreciate it.

  2. Thanks so much. I am one of those folks who visits this blog daily and enjoys it immensely but rarely comments. I have downloaded all of the Van Morrison bootlegs and many others, and they have provided great pleasure to my family and me so the recognition of the effort and time you expend in putting this all together is long overdue. I especially appreciate the Morrison bootlegs. I began listening to him in 1969 when I was fourteen and haven’t stopped since. but he is undoubtedly at his best live

  3. You are very welcome. I’m glad the music can give you so much pleasure.

And thanks for pointing out the error. I try to get everything right, but sometime links get input wrong.

  5. Whoa, this looks like a major new find! Any Van radio boot is bound to be great, and I really really like “the current Van” (Mat, I have not forgotten to send you some comments for the Van blog about which eras I think are best and why).

    Thanks again for this one!

  6. Thanks Mat. Van has posted 2 live shows from 2012 on his website/facebook. They are both great, but this is the better one being in his hometown.

  7. I see now! Bruce, you are referring to YouTube posts on Van’s FB site, right? If so, I don’t have a good way to capture those, and they’d be low-bitrate. If those are the ones you’re referring to. Sure am glad to have Van shows here on Mat’s site in full FLAC! 🙂

Oops. I really do know that, but sometimes my brain doesn’t work that well when I’m posting things first thing in the morning.

You are welcome. I almost always post my shows first thing in the morning because that’s the most convenient time to do it, but I just know I make all kinds of dumb mistakes because my brain isn’t properly functioning yet.
