  1. My internet is still killing me. I tried to upload this show like four times before it finally took. I might have figured out the problem last night though. Zippy uses Flash (I think) for their uploads, but they also have a “classic” uploader which is more basic. I used that last night and it worked perfectly. So maybe, just maybe, I’ve been having problems because of Flash. Don’t know why that would be, but I’ll keep trying the classic uploader and hopefully it will keep working. I’m trying not to be too hopeful as it may have just been a fluke. Time will tell.

  2. Ha indeed!!

seriouslty thiugh I think you may be on the right track with this.
I’m assuming a ‘flash’ uploader works like a download accelerator manager in reverse, i.e. by running parallel streams and then joining them together on arrival. This kind of technology really needs a strong and consistent bandwidth to function effectively as it makes lots of assumptions, and also uses lots more bandwidth to manage all the multiple connections.
For more limited or intermittent connections ‘basic’ is the way to go, for uploading or downloading.
Don’t want to say too much or get ahead of myself as i don’t upload to any of these services but hopefully you may have cracked it – fingers crossed etc…

Was going to ‘up’ the Bob Berlin gig tonight but EDGE has just posted today the 3 new Bruce Crystal Cats from last year – might need to rethink and do the Bob tomorrow!

  3. Don’t know why I’ve never seen the Basic Uploader before, but I saw it last night and thought, hmmmm that might work. And it did. Twice. I uploaded this. Woke up somewhere in the middle of the night, saw that it was finished and started in on the rest of that 1978 collection. I’m crossing my fingers and trying not to get my hopes to far up.

Whenever you have time is cool. I’ve still got lots of good stuff on my hard drive to deal with.

  4. Zippy is great by me. I never have any problems. Thanks for using it! That’s one reason why I look forward to coming here… because they offer a no-hassles download, and it’s free.

  5. I’ll continue to use Zippy Ehrin. The problems I’m having are related to my internet connection not zippy.

Tries the classic method last night but it timed out on me. Was having weird issues with my internet last night. It went out on me several times in the wee hours. Not sure why. Will try again tonight.
