  1. My source for the Grateful Dead now apparently includes 24 bit FLAC files for 1981. I didn’t realize this until I downloaded this one and discovered it was a gigantic file. Personally I neither have the ears or the sound system to make much use of that high quality of a FLAC so from here out I’ll be using the normal quality FLAC files.

    For anyone with badnwidth caps that should make it easier on you as well.

  2. I think normal-quality flac is fine for all but hi-fi maniacs with $50,000 sound systems.
    In this show, the strange “Scarlet” jam at the beginning of set 2 happened because Jerry’s guitar refused to play when they got on stage, and the others covered up until it was fixed..
