Cool! I’ve heard about Billy Bragg for years, but not known his music – curious to hear what his version of “Ode To Joy” will sound like. Thanks Mat!
I really dig Bragg’s stuff, especially live. He usually plays solo and while he’s neither a great guitar player or singer he’s a terrific performer.
I highly recommend this show from Stockholm in which he’s in really good spirits, tells lots of fun stories and makes good jokes.

Or this one in which he gets chatty with the show’s host.

Don’t get me wrong he’s written some really good songs and plays them well, but I could just listen to him talk for a whole show without ever playing a song.
