This is weird. I have been slowly going through all the Amazon files I’ve uploaded over the last few years. I’m double checking everything to ensure I actually posted every show and then tagging them, updating photos when necessary, and sorting them into artists folders. I’m in the middle of that big Beatles comp I posted awhile back when suddenly this thing shows up. I originally uploaded it November of last year. I have the vaguest of memories of grabbing it from somewhere, but where I cannot remember. No idea why it suddenly popped up again.  I couldn’t find it posted anywhere so I think it should be new to everyone.

Whatever its a cool little Bob comp. It is mostly him playing solo acoustic. Sound quality is generally terrific. So if you love Bobby like I do grab this post haste. – Mat

  1. Long time enjoyer of your posts, first time commenter! Love the comp! Especially “Most of the Time”! Hadn’t heard Weir do this Dylan cover before. Awesome! Thanks for all the great recordings over the years!

  2. I’m one of those (probably quite few) people who is not really a Dead fan, or even much of a Jerry fan, but I just love Bob Weir. Many of you on this blog will laugh at me for this, but I really only discovered him on the 2013 tour he did with Bob Dylan (and My Morning Jacket & Wilco). Weir came out with just a guitar and I was like, DAMN, he is great! It kinda blew away the smoke of the larger, longer arrangements I associated with the Dead.

So, a long way of saying thanks, I will enjoy this!

    1. I caught Bob solo on that same tour. While we were all outside the gates (it was an outdoor venue, with a big fence around it) Bob came out and did the sound check. I was one of the only people who seemed to realize who it was playing. You could hear him perfectly and kind of see him if you stood on your tip toes and looked through the crack. I was going crazy while everybody else talked 😉

Have you ever checked out Jerry’s solo stuff? Or any of his acoustic stuff?

      1. I have, mostly from your blog, and I do like Jerry’s solo stuff. And I like some Dead. But so far I’ve connected most with Bob Weir’s solo material. I also like Phil Lesh’s shows.

  3. I get what you are saying Grant. The dead are definitely an aquired taste. Even hard core Deadheads have certain years that they just hate. Personally I love the improvisational jamming up to a point. When they get so far out there that they lose the song I often get off the bus. Course it really depends on what they are doing. There are some crazy jams that really move me, but sometimes its just seems like noise to my ears.

Glad you can dig Bobby and Phil though.

    1. Definitely. And I enjoy the Dead too, I’m just more a fan of other things overall. Thank goodness we have access to so much great music, through your blog and otherwise!
