Recorded March 4, 1994 at Manchester Apollo except tracks 9 and 10 on CD2, as noted
Notes: The back cover says “SMOKE IV / V”. However “Smoke III” is written on CD-1 and “Smoke IV” is written on CD-2.
Review from Brian Murphy: The sound quality is excellent (I think it must be from the mixing board). The set list is much the same as A Night in San Francisco, but without Junior Wells, Jimmy Witherspoon or Candy Dulfer.
Even though the set list is similar, some of the versions are quite different.
Notes from Patrick Lazzarotto: This is definitely an audience recording as evidenced by the presence of a good amount of hall boom and some close audience noise (but mostly between numbers). Not real good stereo separation. However, it is a good audience recording which sounds great with a little effort on the equalizer.
