OldNeumanntapr Notes:
This was my first experience with Neil Finn, and I loved this show! This was Neil’s first solo tour after leaving Crowded House and I thought that both he and his band sounded really good.
My friend Bonnie Harris, a Schoeps taper that I knew back in the 90s, got a ticket at the last minute and was stuck all the way on one side of the PA, whereas my recording was made front row center. I have both recordings and I think that the Nyquist recording sounds much better, but NO ONE has ever wanted it in trade from me, and people always request the Schoeps version because of name recognition. I enjoyed this recording so much that I made certain to record another Neil Finn show a few months later in San Francisco on this same ’98 tour.
